Rupia closes in on colorless Omala as Bandari’s Abdalla hits double digits
As round 31 of the FKF Premier League fixtures kicked off last Friday, Gor Mahia faithful were beginning to get concerned about whether Benson Omala would finally make it 26 league goals for the season, putting him level with Maurice Ochineg Sonyi’s record in 1976.
On the other hand Kenya Police fans were rooting for Elvis Machapo Rupia to close the gap on Omala, as he had been stuck on 21 league goals for three games.
Nzoia Sugar were hoping Joseph Mwangi would close the gap to 20 by helping inspire the side to continue their good run of form in their unprecedented challenge for this season’s title.
Pulse Sports Kenya brings you the goalscoring charts after the conclusion of the latest round of fixtures.
25 Goals: Benson Omala (Gor Mahia)
It was a tough day in the office for Benson Omala who failed to find the back of the net during their 0-0 draw with Tusker at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
The striker had some opportunities created for him but he could not capitalize on them, and was also on the end of some battering through fouls by Tusker players, meaning he had to be stretched off the pitch with an ankle injury
22 Goals: Elvis Rupia (Police FC)
Elvis Rupia found the back of the net for the second successive week in a row as his side drew 1-1 with Ulinzi Stars on Friday afternoon.

Joseph Mwangi was unable to find the back of the net as Nzoia Sugar’s title hopes were dented thanks to a 1-0 loss to Kariobangi Sharks. The winger has now failed to find the back of the net in four consecutive games.
