Quarterfinal matches for the 2024 BAL Playoffs have been determined. Firas Lahyani's incredible buzzer-beater from behind the arc helped Tunisia's US Monastir overcome Angola's Petro de Luanda 70-67, while Senegal's AS Douanes overcame Nigeria's Rivers Hoopers 63-57.

For Monastir, Lahyani pulled down nine rebounds, George Williams scored seventeen points, and Chris Crawford gave out eleven assists.

After suffering three straight losses to begin their Sahara Conference campaign earlier this month, Monastir have won four straight games this season.

They finished the game with 15 turnovers despite outrebounding Petro 44–39. They will try to improve their offensive coordination ahead of their quarterfinal matchup with Rivers Hoopers tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Petro will take on AS Douanes. Nicholas Faust scored 12 points, Childe Dundao contributed 11 points, and Yannick Moreira concluded with nine points and five rebounds.

Abdoulaye Harouna led Douanes with 16 points in the second game of yesterday, while Madut Akec finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Although the Hoopers outrebounded Douanes 48–56, the Douanes were more disciplined with the ball, only committing 10 turnovers as opposed to the Hoopers’ 22.

With 11 points, David Ike led the Hoopers, but both teams had a terrible night as they could not reach the basket.

Al Ahly will play the reigning champion Al Ahly of Egypt this afternoon in the quarterfinals, while FUS Rabat will play the Cape Town Tigers at 5:30 p.m. CAT at BK Arena.
