Rivers Angels suffer first home defeat of the season

Rivers Angel suffered its first home defeat of the season in the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) on matchday nine.

The Port Harcourt-based team lost to Bayelsa Queens at the University of Port Harcourt stadium.

Etim Edidiong's stunner in the 77th minute sealed the victory for the defending champion, Bayelsa Queens.

Favour Ijeje's goal is the difference in Delta as the hosts pick up vital points as they host the Osun Babes at the Sapele Township Stadium Delta state.

The victory is the first home win for Royal Queens in their last three home games.

On the other hand, the Osun Babes have lost three away games consecutively.

The last game in Group A between the Heartland Queens and Naija Ratels will take place on Thursday.
