Richarlison was a second-half substitute as Tottenham crashed out of the Champions League following a goalless draw with AC Milan in the round of 16 second leg on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old came on to play for only 20 minutes as Spurs failed to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg as Milan progressed to the quarter-final with a 1-0 aggregate win.

Richarlison has asked Antonio Conte for more game time.

The minutes against Milan mean Richarlison has now managed 90 minutes of game time in his last three matches, with just one start.

However, the Brazilian has had enough and wants more game time at the club according to his words on Wednesday night.

“I also didn’t get that,” Richarlison said when asked if he would have loved to come on earlier against Milan.

“I was playing well, I was in good form, I had two wins against Aston and Chelsea and all of a sudden [Conte] benched [me]. Against Wolves he played me for 5 minutes, I asked why and they didn’t tell me anything.”

“Yesterday (Tuesday) he asked me to do a test at the training ground, he said if I did well he’d play me, and when the match came he benched me. These things are not understandable.”

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte.

“He didn’t explain anything,” he added. “Let’s see what he says tomorrow. You don’t have an idiot here, I’m a professional, I work every day and I want to play. I need more minutes. If the season is being, sorry for the word, is being shit why do I not get minutes? I got a small injury, but when I’m on the pitch I give my life.”
