Resolute Inter dump Barcelona out of Champions League in seven-goal thriller

Inter Milan scored the only goal in extra-time after a repeat of their scoreline from the first leg—3-3 in regular time—to book their place in this season's Champions League final at Barcelona's expense.

Mirroring the first leg at the Camp Nou, Inter had a two-goal lead, but Barcelona came back and went up 3-2. The Nerazzurri, buoyed by the packed Guiseppe Meazza, roused themselves, equalising late in the game and scoring the tie-decider in extra time.

Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring in the day, finding the back of the net in the 21st minute. Hakan Calhanoglu then doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Pau Cubarsí's late tackle on Martinez was rightly judged by VAR.

However, Barcelona showed remarkable resilience, rallying from behind to pull level. Eric Garcia's stunning volley from Gerard Martín's cross and Dani Olmo's header from another Martín cross gave Barcelona the momentum. Raphinha then put Barcelona ahead for the first time in the tie with a powerful shot that ricocheted off Yann Sommer's gloves and into the net.

But Inter Milan refused to yield. Francesco Acerbi's clinical finish from Denzel Dumfries' cross forced the match into extra time. And it was there that Davide Frattesi sealed the win for Inter, curling home a beautifully weighted shot off Marcus Thuram's cross.
