Report: Mourinho's Roma complete first summer signing
Jose Mourinho's AS Roma have reportedly reached an agreement with Houssem Aouar to join in the summer on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old is currently contracted to Lyon, but his current deal expires in the summer, and he has had many clubs interested in his services. Roma are said to have pipped the competition, and according to the reports, he will play at the Stadio Olimpico next season.
Aouar to Roma
The midfielder has been on the radar of Roma since his refusal to renew his deal with Lyon, and according to Sky Italia, both parties have reached a full agreement, and all that is left is to put pen to paper.
The French-Algerian has had his game time wane since his injury and his contract rebellion and has only managed 14 appearances this season, scoring once and assisting once.
LaLiga side Real Betis were strongly linked with signing the midfielder, and Premier League giants Manchester United were said to have made inquiries, but per the reports, Roma have beaten them to the chase.
Roma was led to the Europa Conference League last year, the Europa League semi-finals this year, and a serious top-four challenge by The Special One. As it stands, there is a possibility he leaves the club due to some financial issue.
