Los Blancos appear to be on a streak of exits as the season comes to an end, with Eden Hazard, Mariano Diaz, and Marco Asensio set to leave the club.

According to Ancelotti, these might not be the end of the exits as Real Madrid plan a squad overhaul in the summer.

Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s final match of the season against Athletic Club, Ancelotti said people should not be surprised by the exits or the incoming signings, as the change was needed.

Ancelotti was keen to mention that the Real Madrid squad for the 2023/24 season will be much different from the current season’s squad as Los Blancos look to create a  competitive squad in order to challenge for the LaLiga and UEFA Champions League titles. 

Ancelotti said, “What I know is that next season’s squad is going to be very competitive.

“The Real Madrid squad always is. It’s going to be a very different squad, but it’s going to be competitive, no matter what.”

Real Madrid are already looking to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, and have been linked with moves for Harry Kane and Roberto Firmino in order to add to their squad for the next season.
