The nomination caps a remarkable year for Bameyi, who was a standout performer at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
He scored a vital goal against Kenya that helped his team advance to the quarter-finals, and his consistent displays throughout the tournament contributed to Nigeria securing a bronze medal.

In an exclusive interview, Bameyi expressed his gratitude for the nomination, viewing it as a major source of motivation.
"I’m really excited and proud to be nominated. It’s a big motivation for me to keep pushing and improving," Bameyi stated.
"Being recognised by CAF is a huge honour, and it inspires me to work even harder to achieve more.
“I’m thankful to my teammates, coaches, and everyone who has supported me along the way."
Bameyi is one of three Nigerian players shortlisted for major honours at this year's CAF Awards.
He is joined by Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who is a contender for the prestigious Men's Player of the Year award and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who is in the running for Goalkeeper of the Year.
