Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has made it clear that his dream job is coaching the South Africa national team but that has not stopped others from trying to lure him.

Mosimane has been without a job since leaving Iranian club Esteghlal FC in January 2025 and is currently focused on his Mosimane Soccer Schools programme but he has been receiving offers from clubs and national teams.

However, none has been able to lure him while he is also still being linked to high-profile job in his country South Africa such as Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana and even ex-club Sundowns.

Just recently, he revealed that there was contact from Ghana although it was not concrete before the West African nation settled for veteran Portuguese tactician Carlos Quiroz to lead the Black Stars at the 2026 World Cup.

Now, the latest report indicates that Mali have also placed Mosimane on their wish list as they search for a coach to replace Frenchman Tom Saintfiet who left last month.

According to North African publication Kooora, Mali wants a top coach to take over from Saintfiet and are looking at experienced coaches who have what it takes to handle high-pressure roles.

The outlet reports that the highly-ambitious West African nation has placed Mosimane on their list of targets alongside former Morocco coach Walid Regragui and ex-Saudi Arabia tactician Herve Renard, who is best remembered in Africa for leading Zambia and Ivory coast to Africa Cup of Nations glory.

It remains to be seen if Mosimane would be enticed to take up the role after recently admitting that he is choosing his next project carefully and will not jump at any opportunity.

“I’m 61, sometimes I don’t need adventure, sometimes I just want proper things and right stuff. There’s also talks in UAE, trust me there’s always talks,” Mosimane told South African broadcaster Robert Marawa last month on why he has turned down so many offers.
