Paris 2024: Sha'Carri Richardson reveals motivation and strategy to win Olympic 100m gold
World's fastest woman Sha'Carri Richardson has revealed her motivation and strategy ahead of having a memorable outing at Paris 2024 Olympics.
Richardson who will be making her Olympic debut and is considered the woman to beat for the 100m title, but isn't putting too much pressure on herself, instead has revealed the driving force towards having a successful Games.
In an Instagram story post by the US champion, she showed a picture of her grandma (Big Momma) standing beside her Nike picture ad and shared her (Big Momma) words of wisdom bestowed to keep her motivated in Paris.
"Do your best and have fun - Big Momma," she captioned.
Richardson is bookies choice to win the gold medal as she has the world's fastest time of 10.71s and is the reigning world champion.
However, she'll have stiff competition in her Jamaican rivals Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, as well as St Lucian pride Julien Alfred, who are also capable of snatching the title.
With track and field set to begin on August 1 in Paris 2024, Richardson will be gunning to put the United States back on the gold medal podium in the women's 100m event for the first time since Gail Devers feat at Atlanta 1996.
