Osimhen must make sacrifices — Jay Jay Okocha gives honest advice to most-wanted star
Victor Osimhen's loan move to Galatasaray proved to be a masterstroke, scoring 37 goals and adding eight assists in 41 matches across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s team.
His excellent form helped Galatasaray clinch both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish League Cup. Despite interest from clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al-Hilal, Galatasaray are keen to sign him on a permamnent basis.
Nigerian legend Jay-Jay Okocha, who played for Fenerbahçe in Turkey for two years, shared his thoughts on his time there and Osimhen’s potential future with the Turkish champions.
“I remember the fans and the food from my days at Fenerbahçe. I had a wonderful time there, but I could only stay for 2 years. Still, it was a great 2 years for my career,” the 1994 AFCON winner told TRT Spor, as quoted by En Haberler.
“Osimhen going to Galatasaray was not a surprise because Turkey is a great place to play and live football.
"Sometimes you may need to make sacrifices when making decisions in football. Osimhen had a great season at Galatasaray. Ultimately, he is happy there.
Why shouldn't he stay with the team? I love Turkey. He loves it too. I don't know where he'll be next season. Wherever he decides to go, I wish him the best,” the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder concluded.
