Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala scored a brilliant goal for Barcelona against Benfica in their opening Champions League clash, and following the game, the Blaugrana coach, Jonatan Giraldez, said her hair is her superpower, and she had to leave it dyed pink.
What happened
As Pulse Sports reported, Oshoala scored from her first touch of the game, an overhead kick, to close off a 5-0 result for Barcelona in their Uefa Women's Champions League clash against Benfica.
The Blaugrana Femeni started their UWCL title defence in remarkable fashion, running riot against Benfica at the Johann Cruyff Arena.
Their performance was powered by braces from the two Ballon d'Or winners in the side, Aitana Bomati and Alexia Putellas, but it was the Nigerian, Oshoala, who stole the headlines with her stunner on the hour mark.
What Giraldez said about Oshoala’s hair
Speaking in the post-match interview with Dazn, the Barcelona coach was asked about Oshola’s goal and her importance to the team.
Giraldez explained that he appreciated Oshoala’s qualities and how she is able to give the team a different dynamic, given her ability to make runs in behind the opposition backline.
On a lighter note, the presenters complimented Oshoala’s pink hairdo, and Giraldez chimed in, saying she had to keep the hair as her form saw a turnaround when she started wearing the do.
