Oceania and Australia Record: Gout Gout storms to dream European debut in Ostrava
Australian sprint star Gout Gout had a dream European debut after blazing to a new Oceania and National Record to win the men's 100m event at the Ostrava Golden Spike on Tuesday evening.
Competing in his first professional race against more established sprinters, the 17-year-old speedster dubbed the next Usain Bolt rose to occasion as he powered to a new Personal Best (PB) of 20.02s (0.0) to break his Australian record, taking 0.02 off the Oceanian record he set in December.
He defeated Cuba's Reynier Mena, who clocked 20.19s, while Great Britain's Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake was third in 20.60s.

With his impressive performance, Gout won his first senior race abroad and first ever in Europe, giving a glimpse as to what’s to come either later this season or in future years.
