Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper, has provided a positive update on Taiwo Awoniyi's recovery from injury.
The striker, who suffered a groin injury while on international duty last month, is reportedly making good progress in his rehabilitation.
Awoniyi injury progress going well
Awoniyi is expected to return to action until the new year after successfully undergoing surgery.
“Taiwo’s injury is the obvious long-term one,” Cooper was quoted by the Nottingham Post. “He is going well but he is a long, long way from being back involved in games.
“But his programme is going well. He had a positive appointment this week. He doesn’t enjoy being injured but he is staying positive in his mentality.”
Awoniyi has made 10 league appearances for Forest this season with four goals to his name.
