Noah Lyles joined the elite ranks with the likes of the fastest man alive, Usain Bolt, after winning the 200m title at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

Competing in the men's 200m final, the Olympic 100m champion was in a class of his own, showcasing his top-end speed as he claimed top honours in the race, clocking an impressive 19.52 seconds to cross the finish line.

He is now unbeaten in the 200m in four World Championships, starting from the 2019 edition of the World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Noah Lyles then successfully defended his title at the 2022 edition of the event on home soil in Eugene, Oregon, before making a mark at the 2023 edition of the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

In the 200m final in Tokyo, Kenny Bednarek fought hard for the win but could only be awarded another silver medal, crossing the finish line in a season's best time of 19.58 seconds.

Bryan Levell, the Jamaican who stunned Letsile Tebogo in the semifinal of the 200m, finished third, clocking a personal best time of 19.64 seconds, showcasing the quality of the race. Olympic 200m champion, Letsile Tebogo sadly missed out on a podium place, finishing fourth in 19.65 seconds.

Noah Lyles started his season with an injury setback that saw him halt his competition after competing sparingly indoors. He started his season with the RADD Sports College Invitational and Multi-Event before heading to the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix and Tom Jones Memorial.

The American then took a break and returned with a bang, winning the men's 200m at the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco before racing at the meeting in London. Noah Lyles would then compete at the US Championships, and then to the Diamond League Meetings in Silesia, Lausanne and then Zurich.
