Nigerian Gold medallists at African U18/U20 Championships to pocket ₦1,000,000 each, reveals NSC

Team Nigeria medallists at the African U18/U20 Championships in Abeokuta will receive substantial cash rewards of up to ₦1,000,000, as announced by the National Sports Commission (NSC).

NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade made the announcement on Day 2 of the championship to the excitement of the athletes.

"The determination in our athletes’ eyes is inspiring,’ said Mallam Dikko. "We’ll continue rewarding their hard work and patriotism."

Hon. Olopade, who also chairs the Local Organizing Committee, emphasized the importance of athlete care and grooming future champions.

"When we support our athletes, they give back through medal-winning performances. These young talents are key to our success at upcoming global competitions like the Commonwealth and Olympic Games."
