How Tonye became a Guinness World Record holder

Last month, Tonye Solomon accomplished the astounding feat by ascending 150 stairs to the top of a 250-foot (76-meter) tall radio mast while deftly maintaining control of the ball on top of his head.

According to Guinness World Records on Twitter, “New record: Most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on the head - 150 by Tonye Solomon (Nigeria) ⚽. Don't look down 👀”

According to Tonye, he wanted to set this record to push himself and "inspire others to do great things."

He prepared for it for two months, using all of his free time to practice until he was certain he would succeed.

Tonye completed the climb in under 12 and a half minutes during the record attempt, appearing unconcerned by the incline.

Tonye climbed the entire 150 steps, flung the ball down, and fist-pumped in glee. He got down from the mast and said “It wasn't easy. I thank the Nigerian Civil Defense Bayelsa State Command for allowing me to use their facility for this.”
