The weekend action gets underway on Saturday at Jamhuri Ground with a blockbuster encounter between one-time champions Stray Lions A and multiple titleholders Swamibapa A.

Stray Lions A Face Swamibapa A in Saturday Opener

Playing at home, Swamibapa A will be keen to maintain their dominance and protect their unbeaten home record. However, Stray Lions A, who have shown signs of resurgence after a difficult few seasons, will be no easy opponents.

The Lions will be counting on their overseas professionals, led by Subham Jadav, to guide their aggressive batting unit. Known for their attacking style, Stray Lions will look to dictate terms, while Swamibapa will rely on experience and discipline to stay in control.

Both sides have won their opening matches and will be eager to build momentum as the race for qualification begins to take shape.

Kanbis A and Ruaraka A Renew Fierce Rivalry

Attention will also turn to Ruaraka Ground on Saturday, where rivals Kanbis A and Ruaraka A clash in a highly anticipated encounter.

Kanbis A come into the match under pressure after suffering a five-wicket loss to Sir Ali on January 18. Led by experienced captain Dhiren Gondaria, they will be desperate to bounce back and get their campaign back on track.

Ruaraka A, on the other hand, are still searching for their first win of the season and will be fighting to end a winless run.

Despite being depleted by the absence of their overseas players, who were instrumental in their 50-over league success, the Nitish Hirani-led side will bank on a strong bowling attack to challenge the Kanbis batting lineup.

With both teams needing a positive result, the contest is expected to be fiercely fought.

Other Key Matches on Saturday

Saturday’s action also features Ngara SC A hosting Sir Ali A at Ngara Ground, while Sikh Union A take on SCLPS A at Sikh Union Ground in what promises to be a competitive double-header.

Sunday’s headline fixture sees Kanbis A lock horns with Swamibapa A at Jaffrey’s in what is being billed as the “Mother of All Battles.”

The clash is a repeat of several intense encounters from previous seasons. Swamibapa A, renowned for their effective spin attack, will aim to put Kanbis’ batsmen under pressure.

Kanbis A will once again look to their skipper Dhiren Gondaria, who smashed back-to-back centuries over the weekend to climb to the top of the batting charts. Newcomer Tanzeel Sheikh is also expected to play a key role as Kanbis seek to overpower the Swamibapa bowling attack.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Nbi Gymkhana A host Sir Ali A at Nbi Gymkhana, Stray Lions A face Sikh Union A at Peponi, and Ruaraka A welcome SCLPS A at Ruaraka Ground.

With the league still in its early stages, every match carries added significance as teams look to establish rhythm and confidence. The stakes are rising, tension is building, and the competition is heating up across all divisions.
