Nathaniel and Chukwuma crash out in the semis at the World Championships in Budapest

Nigeria's duo of Ezekiel Nathaniel and Rosemary Chukwuma couldn't progress in their semifinal races on Day 3 of the World Championships in Budapest.

Nathaniel, the national record holder in the men's 400m Hurdles, failed to improve on his 48.47s performance in the qualifying heat, running 49.22s to finish sixth in the semifinal.

It's his second consecutive time crashing out in the semis, as it was the same stage he attained at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon.
Likewise, Chukwuma didn't progress to the women's 100m final, having finished a distant eighth in 11.24s in her semifinal race.

With both athletes out, Nigeria is yet to have a finalist in the sprint events at the ongoing World Championships in Budapest.
