According to reports, the Tunisian coach was suspended over the expiry of his UEFA Pro Licence, which CAF regulations require to sit on the bench during interclub competitions.

Chiefs have reportedly opened negotiations for a mutual contract termination, with Nabi said to be keen on resolving the matter swiftly. This development has sparked talk of a potential move back to East Africa, where Nabi is a revered figure.

During his stint with Young Africans SC (Yanga), he transformed the club into a dominant force, guiding them to back-to-back NBC Premier League titles, two Azam Sports Federation Cups, and memorable runs in continental competition  including a CAF Confederation Cup final appearance.

With Simba SC searching for a new coach after Fadlu Davids’ departure to Raja Casablanca, Nabi’s track record and familiarity with Tanzanian football make him a prime candidate.

A move to Simba would also provide him with a fresh challenge and the chance to go head-to-head once more with arch-rivals Yanga, a prospect sure to thrill fans and reignite the Dar es Salaam derby rivalry.

The urgency for Simba to make an appointment cannot be overstated.

The club’s season is already underway, having opened their CAF Champions League campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Gaborone United and preparing for the league opener against Singida Big Stars.

Whether Simba opt for the proven Tanzanian success of Nabi or explore other names that have been linked including Benni McCarthy their decision could shape the trajectory of their season and intensify the battle for domestic supremacy.
