Napoli star's father deals Chelsea transfer blow after revealing Real Madrid dream
Premier League club Chelsea football club has suffered a setback in their plan to sign Napoli winger Khivcha Kvaratskhelia in January.
The Blues are expected to be busy in the winter market as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.
Chelsea suffer setback
A combination of injuries and poor form has seen Pochettino’s men struggle for form in the Premier League this season.
Chelsea currently sit 10th on the table despite splashing millions on new signings last summer.
However, the club remains committed to strengthening the team with more players, with their eyes set on Napoli players.
The Blues have been linked in recent times to Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen as a possible solution to their striker problem and his teammate, Kvaratskhelia.
But according to a report from the Express, a move for Osimhen’s teammate, Kvaratskhelia, is set to hit the rocks following comments from his father, Badri Kvaratskhelia.
Per the father, the Premier League is not a likely destination for the Napoli man as the 22-year-old Gerogian dreams of LALIGA giants, Real Madrid.
“For Khvicha, playing against Real Madrid was special,” the father stated. “He has always dreamed and I’m convinced that he still dreams of playing for Real Madrid,” he added.
The wide forward was in action from start to finish but could not save his Serie A champions, Napoli, from a heavy defeat in the Champions League in mid-week.
Jude Bellingham stole the show again as Real defeated Napoli 4-2 to complete the double against them in the competition this season.
