Napoli star reportedly open to Saudi Arabia move after Lazio's Milinkovic Savic's exit
Napoli’s Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski is reportedly open to a move to the oil-rich Saudi Arabian league after fellow Serie A star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic made a similar move from Lazio to Al-Hilal.
Napoli’s Zielinski on the radar of Al-Hilal
Zielinski was part of the Napoli side that claimed the club’s first Serie A title since 1990 after a superb 2022/23 campaign and aided the team's cause with three goals and nine assists in 37 league games.
Despite being a key part of the Napoli squad, the Poland international has refused to rule out a move away from the club this summer, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal reportedly keen on a deal for the attacking midfielder.
Zielinski currently has a contract with Napoli until 2024 but has failed to agree on a new deal at the club after reportedly being offered lower wages for an extension than his current contract.
Al-Hilal looking to add Zielinski to summer signing spree
After signing established stars like Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, and Reuben Neves from Wolves, Al-Hilal are looking to add more star names to their roster before the end of the transfer window, with Zielinski a credible option.
According to Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, both Zielinski and Al-Hilal are keen on a deal, and the Saudi side could be preparing an official bid to Napoli for the midfielder.
Napoli are also open to selling the 29-year-old midfielder this summer in order not to lose him on a free transfer, with a number of clubs open to taking the Poland international off their hands.
