Mwamba suffer blow as talented winger is ruled out

Mwamba RFC will begin their 2023 National 7s Circuit without winger Idriss Shariff.

Shariff has been ruled out by a damaged Achilles and has already undergone surgery, according to the club. The injury that will rule the winger out of the initial action of the season was sustained on Sunday during a training session.

The injury suffered by Kulabu, as Shariff is famously known, was not disclosed.

"Our winger Idriss Shariff underwent successful surgery on Sunday to repair his damaged Achilles after he got injured during a training session with the Sevens team.

"Please join us in wishing Idriss a speedy recovery," Mwamba announced on Monday.

This year’s national circuit will begin with Dala 7s at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu City, from July 1 to 2.
