In a statement made by the Mwamba director of rugby, Fahad Mohammed, the club is delighted to appoint him as coach, as he is a “club man through and through” who can help transcend the values of the club into the new generation of players.

“We are happy to have Collins join the team. He has been a quality player for club and country and no doubt he will be a huge asset to our technical bench. He is a club man through and through and he is happy to continue working with us,”

Injera, who is no stranger to the Mwamba RFC setup after playing for the club for over 16 years, will be tasked with coaching both the defensive and attacking units. He will be working alongside Peter Kepher who takes a new role as a skills and development coach.

Both will serve as assistant coaches to the head coach to be announced at a later date.

Injera hung his boots as the world's second top try scorer in sevens after crossing the line on 279 occasions.

Throughout his 17 years of playing international rugby, Injera became a key figure in Kenya's sevens squad whilst also representing the 15s.
