Millions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Is Set To Pocket For Groundbreaking Track and Field Docuseries
Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has turned the next page of her incredible journey after hanging up her spikes, reportedly signing a $13.5 million deal with Netflix for a documentary series capturing her life and legacy.
The project comes on the heels of her final World Championship campaign in Tokyo, where she capped off a storied career that has inspired generations.
Fraser-Pryce, widely known as the “Pocket Rocket,” announced earlier this year that she would retire following the 2025 season, choosing to spend more time with her family and pursue new avenues off the track.

The 38-year-old sprinter’s decision came after a heartbreaking end to her Olympic career in Paris, where she had to withdraw from the 100m semi-finals due to injury.
At the World Championships in Tokyo, the Jamaican sprint icon competed in both the 100m and the 4x100m relay. She finished sixth in the 100m final before helping Jamaica secure silver in the relay, placing behind Team USA. It was a fitting farewell on the global stage, one that reminded the world of her resilience and brilliance.
“The series is set to not be a documentary unlike the documentary Sprint that is already on Netflix documenting the 100m elite sprinters looking to win gold while navigating training, media scrutiny and Olympic competition in this sports series following their race to become the world's fastest human,” reported Wicnews.
A Career Worth Documenting
The upcoming Netflix production is expected to feature seven episodes, chronicling Fraser-Pryce’s inspiring rise from humble beginnings to becoming a global icon in track and field.
Unlike other athletic series, the focus will be more intimate, diving deep into her personal sacrifices, challenges, and triumphs.
According to Caribbean News, the project aims to stand apart from existing sports documentaries by showcasing Fraser-Pryce’s unique story of perseverance.
“The series is set to not be a documentary unlike the documentary Sprint…” the report emphasized, highlighting the distinct narrative approach.
A Legacy Beyond the Track
Fraser-Pryce’s career has long been seen as a mantle for young female athletes to aspire toward. Her journey is particularly remarkable for the way she stepped away to start a family before making a stunning return, dominating the track in the second half of her career.
“A career that’ll be used as the mantle for future female track athletes to aspire towards. One built around clad and grace with a lot of overcoming in between as she dominated the field even after taking some time off to have a child but returned to the track to have an even more stellar second half of her career,” wrote Caribbean News.
Fraser-Pryce leaves behind a powerful legacy defined by resilience, grace, and excellence.
“Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce carried Jamaica on your shoulders with grace, power, and pride and showed the world what true greatness looks like on and off the track,” the report added.
