Mikel Obi celebrates Ava and Mia on birthday: daughters of Super Eagles legend turn 8 in Dubai

Super Eagles of Nigeria legend Mikel Obi has been trending on social media for days. 

The retired midfield general has been trending since he featured for Chelsea legends in a 4-0 victory against Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Mikel's daughters Ava and Mia turned eight on Thursday, September 14, 2023, and the former Chelsea man took to social media to celebrate the special occasion.

Mikel took to his official social media platforms to post a video and a message to celebrate the special occasion.

Along with the photos was a message that said, "I am the luckiest dad in the world to be blessed with 2 of the most adorable kids.

"I’m so proud of the smart and intelligent young girls you are and I promise to always be there for you at all times.

"Happy Birthday Babies.🎉 With 💕Daddy.

His partner, Olga also took to social media to celebrate their daughter's eighth birthday.

She posted a photo to go with a message that said, "Happy Birthday Ava and Mia 💕 Words can’t describe how much I love you two and how lucky I feel to have you both in my life.

"You make sun shine brighter even in Dubai and make me laugh endlessly everyday.

"I wish you both a life full of choices and to always chose wisely. Love you and very proud of you both. 💕"

Mikel Obi was in action at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea Legends trounced the Bayern Munich Legends 4-0 thanks to goals from Michael Essien, John Terry, Gary Cahill, and Tiago.

The game was held in honor of Gianluca Vialli, who passed away, and the Blues squad stood for a photo next to his unmistakable number nine shirt before the match.

In an interview with the Chelsea website, Mikel Obi talked about the emotion of returning to the Bridge and defeating Bayern Munich once more after putting on an outstanding performance in the Legends of Europe game.

Mikel then talked about Chelsea winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2012.

According to Mikel Obi, he should have been named Man of the Match in the Champions League final.
