Inter Miami has brought Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Javier Mascherano back together.
Mascherano's appointment as Inter Miami's new coach was finalized on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 marking the reunion of the former Barcelona and Argentina teammates.
Mascherano will also team up with former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets at Barcelona.
Late last week, the parties agreed that Mascherano would take Gerardo "Tata" Martino's place after he resigned for personal reasons.
The statement by the club said, "Argentina and FC Barcelona legend Javier @Mascherano has been named as our new head coach! Welcome to the Miami dream 🩷🖤.
Mascherano most recently coached the Olympic team and Argentina's under-20 squad.
He has agreed to a three-year contract and will assume responsibility once his work documentation is finished.
This comes after Inter Miami were knocked out of the MLS playoffs in the first round by Atalanta United.
