Lisandro MartÃnez is now reportedly close to resuming full training with the Manchester United first-team squad, marking the near conclusion of an eight-month recovery from a severe knee injury.
After breaking his foot towards the end of his promising debut season in 2022–23, MartÃnez suffered the same issue early in the 2023–24 campaign.

His most significant frustration came in February 2025 with an ACL injury that sidelined him after a period where he had largely impressed fans with his aggressive style following his arrival from Ajax for a package worth in excess of £50 million.

However, his latest rehabilitation is showing strong progress. A report from Sky Sports notes that positive results from a scan on the injured knee last week have paved the way for the final recovery steps.
Given the serious nature of the injury and his recent fitness history, United are expected to exercise caution and avoid rushing MartÃnez back into competitive action.
Despite this measured approach, the possibility remains that the popular Argentine could rejoin the rest of the squad by the end of this week.
