They know it takes time — Amorim says INEOS understand his predicament at Man United

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim said that he continues to receive private support from the Manchester United leadership, but he insisted that he continues to pile immense pressure on himself and the team. 

Despite poor results, the Manchester United hierarchy have shown public support for Amorim, with Jim Ratcliffe stating that at least three years were required to evaluate the work of the Portuguese tactician. 

According to the former Sporting CP coach, he enjoys the support in private as well.  "He tells me all the time, sometimes with a message after games but you know I know and Jim knows that football is not like that," Amorim said, per Goal. 

“The most important thing in football is the next game. You cannot control the next day. But it is really good to hear that. But also because of the noise. Omar and Jason tell me that all the time. First of all I can feel it, it is not just that thing that people say, I feel it every day."

Despite the support he gets from the bosses, Amorim said he is determined to turn their fortunes around expediently, and as such, he applies immense pressure on himself and the team. 

"Sometimes the pressure I put on the team and myself is so much bigger. I know it is going to take a while," he told reporters. "It is really good to hear that. I think it helps our fans to understand that leadership know it is going to take a while. 

“But at the same time I don’t like that because I don’t want that feeling in our club that we have time to sort things out. We need to prove in football and at big clubs that every week we are ready to win games."
