Manchester City star Rodri ahead of schedule in return from ACL injury

Rodri has revealed that winning the Ballon d'Or has been a motivating factor in his recovery from an ACL injury.

The 28-year-old, who played a crucial role in City's Premier League and UEFA Super Cup triumphs last season, is eager to return to action before the end of the season.

Speaking to Four Four Two, Rodri expressed his determination to make a comeback, saying:

"Everything seems to be going well with my rehab. Because of my injury, the award has been like a bottle of oxygen for me."

Rodri's ultimate goal is to be involved in City's season, adding:

"I want to come back this season; that would be important for me. I don’t know if I can, but I’d like to be involved for a month or two and finish the season."

The champions have looked awful in their star player's absence, winning just one of their last eleven games and falling out of the top four.
