The Red Devils defeated the 10-man visitors 3-2 courtesy of a brilliant second half performance from Erik Ten Hag’s men.

Awoniyi’s historic moment vs Man United

Awoniyi and his Tricky Tees came into the game at Old Trafford looking to build on their first win of the season against Sheffield United last weekend.

The 26-year-old netted the opener as Forest defeated Sheffield 2-1 at the City Ground.

Awoniyi’s goal saw him equal Stan Collymore’s club record of scoring in six consecutive matches and one more game behind two African giants, Mohamed Salah and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Nottingham Forest got off to the perfect start when Awoniyi held off Marcus Rashford to slot past Andre Onana after just two minutes.

It was his third goal in three matches this season and seventh in his last matches which saw him join Salah and Adebayor as the only Africans to have achieved that feat in Premier League history.

Along with the photos by Awoniyi was a message about Yeshua signaling his Christian believe.

United’s fightback

Forest built on that goal when Willy Boly made it 2-0 two minutes later in a bizarre day at Old Trafford.

However, Awoniyi’s goal proved not to be enough to give Forest all three points this time as United came from behind to steal the win thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and a late Bruno Fernandes penalty.
