Man United vs Brighton: Amrabat to wait to become first-ever Moroccan Red Devil
Premier League side Manchester United will have to wait for a while to call on new signing Sofyan Amrabat the club has confirmed.
United manager, Erik Ten Hag, gave an update on the 2022 World Cup star ahead of their clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The Red Devils are hoping to return to winning ways against the Seagulls after falling apart at the Emirates against Arsenal just before the international break.
Amrabat still missing
Ahead of what is expected to be a difficult game, United boss Ten Hag has confirmed that the Reds will be without new signing Amrabat.
The 27-year-old joined the club on a season-long loan from Serie A side, Fiorentina, but will watch from the executive suite when Brighton visit Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the club’s in-house television, MUTV, the former Ajax boss confirmed that Amrabat, who was forced to leave Morocco’s camp with a minor injury, is out but not for long.
"Amrabat, he came back unfortunately with the injury, so he will not be available for tomorrow [Saturday],” he told MUTV.
“But I think, on the short notice [soon], yes. And I'm sure we will all get joy from them."
While he remains out, the defensive midfielder will become the first-ever Moroccan to represent United.
