Manchester United icon Paul Scholes has forecasted a devastating end to the season for Arsenal, tipping them to fall short in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Gunners currently lead the English top flight and have reached the semi-finals of Europe's elite competition, fueling hopes of a historic double. A Champions League triumph would be a first for the club, while their last Premier League title came 22 years ago.

Mikel Arteta's team has been at the top of the table for most of the season, but a recent dip in form, including a crucial 2-1 loss to title rivals Manchester City, has tightened the race. Arsenal are now just three points ahead, having played one more game than the reigning champions.

With the title race going down to the wire, opinions are divided, but Scholes is backing City to emerge victorious. Speaking to Sky Bet, the former midfielder confidently picked his old rivals to clinch the league title.

Scholes Predicts Woe for Arsenal and Spurs

Such an outcome would be a significant blow for an Arsenal side that has finished as runners-up in the past three seasons. However, Scholes' bleak prediction didn't stop there. He also backed Paris Saint-Germain to win the Champions League for a second consecutive year, which would deny the Gunners European glory as well.

Arsenal are considered favourites to advance to the final from their half of the draw after securing a 1-1 away draw against LaLiga's Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, PSG hold a 5-4 aggregate lead over Bayern Munich but face a challenging second leg in Germany.

Scholes also predicted Manchester City would win the FA Cup, where they are heavily favoured to defeat Chelsea in the final on May 16. Arsenal's own hopes of a quadruple were dashed earlier in the season with a Carabao Cup final loss to City and a surprise FA Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of Southampton.

Finally, when asked about the Premier League relegation battle, Scholes tipped Tottenham to join the already-demoted Wolves and Burnley. Spurs currently sit 18th, two points behind West Ham with four matches left to play. Despite a recent win against Wolves—their first of the year—Roberto De Zerbi's side remains in a precarious position, though Nottingham Forest and Leeds appear to have secured their safety.
