Man City's Pep Guardiola comments on Tottenham's Ange Postecoglou appointment

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola has commented on the appointment of former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou by Tottenham. 

Spurs announced the 57-year-old as their next manager today. He becomes their first permanent manager since the sacking of Antonio Conte mid-season after Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason held the role on an interim basis.  

The Manchester City boss was asked for his opinion on the appointment in a press conference today, and he was full of praise for the Australian. 

Pep believes Postecoglou is a brilliant manager and seemed glad that another top coach had entered the Premier League. 

He revealed that he has had a previous encounter with him, as Ange was previously a manager at Yokohama FC, a club that is part of the City group. 

The Spaniard threw a joke in, saying he hoped they are able able to score against Tottenham away from home under the reign of the former Socceroos boss. 

Meanwhile, Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has revealed that he has reviewed footage of how Rudiger handled Haaland and plans to employ a similar method.
