Without some of their key players like Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Ederson, the Cityzens proved to be too good for David Moyes and his men.

It was a special night for their Norwegian star, Haaland, 22, as his goal saw him take his tally to 35 in the league this season.

He became the first player to score 35 goals in a single Premier League season, a record he described as unreal and special.

“It feels a bit unreal, to be honest,” Haaland told Premier League. “I wasn’t thinking of this kind of record when I came here, and to break it means I have done something special.”

The record means the Norwegian forward has now surpassed Premier League legends Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer in only his debut season.

“I am really proud of this moment,” he added. “I have to thank my teammates for making it possible and Pep and all the trainers for making the tactics so I can score the goals.”
