Maja was in superb form and shape as Bordeaux continued their push for immediate promotion back to Ligue 1 with an emphatic 3-0 win over Grenoble on Monday night football.

The Nigerian International scored two of the goals, each coming in either half while Zuriko Davitashvili was the scorer of the other goal on the night.

Maja leads Bordeaux’s promotion charge

After a bad day at the office the previous weekend, Bordeaux are back to winning ways and in a decisive style.

Nigerian striker Maja has been an important part of the club’s goal to return to Ligue 1 following their relegation last season.

This season, the 24-year-old has been in superb form with his performance against Grenoble taking his tally to three goals in his last three matches.

Maja has now scored 15 goals and assisted five others in 29 starts this season in the Ligue 2.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles hopeful could be set for a big summer in the transfer window, with the striker considering his Bordeaux future amidst interest from clubs around Europe.

His performances for his French club have not gone unnoticed by other clubs in Europe, as teams in Ligue 1, LaLiga, the Premier League, and the Championship have started circling around the London-born forward ahead of a possible move in the summer.

Spanish side Real Valladolid are reported to have already offered the striker a deal to tempt him to leave Bordeaux, especially if they somehow fail to meet the requirement for promotion to Ligue 1 at the end of the current season.
