The Uganda Badminton Association had initially postponed the National Schools League this weekend to allow the USSSA qualifiers to go on.

However, a decision was reversed after it was revealed that USSSA postponed the games less than 24 hours before the start of the tournament.

The governing body decided to have the league games instead this weekend since participating teams were all ready to compete.

Despite the confusion, Mbogo High school head coach William Kabinde credits the association with league development.

"It is a bit easier to scout for the best players because the league helps us keep tabs on the players when it comes to trials," he told Pulse Sports.

Namuribu Patra from Kinaawa High School, who lost her singles, says she must work harder despite the defeat.

"I have to train harder to win my following games next time," she says.

Kibuli Secondary School were the big winner of the weekend encounter as they, both representatives, defeated Kinaawa High School (5-0)
