LALIGA side Real Sociedad have reportedly decided to reinstate Umar Sadiq in their squad, as it looks increasingly likely he will not secure an exit this transfer window.

The 28-year-old went out on loan to Valencia in the second half of last season, as he was surplus to requirements at Real Sociedad. After working hard on a permanent exit this summer, Sergio Francisco might have no choice but to rely on the Nigerian this season.

According to Estadio Deportivo, La Reale have decided Sadiq can return to training ahead of their game against Real Betis. Sadiq has been training on his own while working on an exit and will not rejoin the group.

The Nigeria international was keen on returning to Valencia this summer, rejecting offers from elsewhere. However, Los Che were unable or unwilling to match Real Sociedad’s ask.

After the close of the European transfer window, the Basque side offered him to clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. However, no deal could be reached.

The Qatari league is the only window still open, providing the only exit route for the Nigerian ahead of his close on Tuesday. However, Sadiq already rejected an approach from Al Duhail from Qatar earlier in the window, according to the report.

Real Sociedad could certainly use Sadiq’s match-winning qualities, as they have only managed to pick up two points in their home league games this season.
