KCCA FC has promoted three youngsters from the academy to the senior team ahead of the new football season.

The three are Alex Yiga, Abubakar Mayanja and Anthony Emojong, and they have all been handed five-year contracts.

KCCA started preseason training on Sunday and has already made significant signings ahead of the new campaign.

Aires Emilson Gonzaga, Carlos Da Silva Cungulo and Michael Vinicius Silva are some of the team’s new signings.

But the club policy of promoting players from the junior side continues to produce the goods.

Yiga is an attacking midfielder who joined the KCCA FC Soccer Academy in the 2022/23 season before getting an invitation to football assessment programs in Scotland and England.

He was part of the KCCA FC U20 side that won the Cambiasso International Tournament in Daresalam, Tanzania, in 2022.

He also won bronze at the 2022 CECAFA U17 tournament with the Uganda Cubs in Ethiopia.

Forward Mayanja, on the other hand, joined the club’s academy in 2022 and was also in the team that won the Cambiasso Tournament.

Goalkeeper Emojong joined the KCCA FC soccer academy in 2016 and was loaned out to FUFA Big League side Lugazi FC last season.

He played in 16 games, kept seven clean sheets and conceded five goals.

He comes into a team that let go of two custodians, Benjamin Ochan and Ali Mwirusi.
