During an interview with Al-Ittihad's website, Benzema was asked to name his dream xi, and he surprisingly left out both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former France international picked this team: Manuel Neuer; Dani Alves, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo; Claude Makelele, Paul Pogba, Zinedine Zidane; Ronaldinho, Ronaldo (R9), Karim Benzema.

Benzema's decision to overlook the two greatest players in the game is surprising to say the least, but Ronaldo Nazario and Ronaldinho are worthy inclusions in their rights.
