Jurgen Klopp announced recently that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season after joining the Reds in 2015.
The German tactician led the Reds to success in the Premier League, Champions League and both domestic cups.
Salah expresses shock at Klopp's news
The Egyptian star, expecting news of a new contract, was left bewildered by the sudden turn of events.
"Usually we don't do meetings at 10.30 am, as 10.30 is the report time," Salah remarked, as reported by Sky Sports.
"It's normally a 10.30 meet time and then 12 noon training. Then they said there was a meeting at 10.30 am. I was like: 'What?'"
"The manager's agent was there at the training ground and I thought: 'Oh, he's renewing his contract'. And five minutes before the meeting, Virgil [van Dijk] said: 'Do you know what the meeting is about?'
"I said no. He said: 'The manager is leaving'. I said: 'Really, the manager is leaving? You serious? Why? He said: 'No idea'."
"Then the manager came in and he just said it and it was weird because no one knew before. There was nothing in the media. He didn't even prepare us for that, he just said it. That was a weird day for us and for the club."
Quest for Trophies Intensifies for Liverpool
With Klopp's departure looming, Liverpool's players are now tasked with maximising their trophy haul. Despite the shocking news, they've already secured the Carabao Cup and have set their sights on further success.
"The Carabao Cup is already in the bag," Salah affirmed, "while an FA Cup quarter-final with Manchester United is on next week's agenda."
"The Reds are all but into the Europa League quarter-finals after dispatching Sparta Prague 5-1 in the last-16 first leg in midweek - and then there is the Premier League."
