Jamaicans, Americans, and Kenyan fans react as Sha'Carri Richardson wins Women's Athlete of the Year poll
A country fan war ensued between Jamaicans, Americans, and Kenyans following Sha'Carri Richardson winning a popular poll for the Women's Athlete of the Year Award.
Richardson was nominated alongside ten other brilliant athletes, that includes Jamaica's Shericka Jackson and Kenya's Faith Kipyegon - both regarded to have had a better overall season and Kipyegon as the favourite for the award.
However, in a recent poll conducted, the American track star topped by a high 52%, Dutch 400m Hurdles world champion Femke Bol was second with 21% votes, Jackson third at 10%, and Kipyegon a distant fourth with just 7% votes.
The result has caused several reactions or 'fan war' as it's popularly called in the social media space, with fans of each country giving their takes on why their athlete is more deserving.
