'I was nervous' - Sha'Carri Richardson reveals the motivation behind defeating star-studded field at Prefontaine Classic
Sha'Carri Richardson bounced back to winning ways in exquisite style after defeating a star-studded 100m field in 10.83s at the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League in Eugene.
The American speedster running in front of her home crowd stormed to the needed victory to defeat world 60m champion Julien Alfred in 10.93s, while Great Britain's record holder Dina Asher-Smith was third in 10.98s.
Surprisingly, double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah was ninth in 11.30s - a below-par performance for the Jamaican track icon.

Speaking with Sarah Lorge Butler after the race, the world's fastest woman revealed how she was able to overcome her fears and bounce back to prominence.
"I feel great about the race. I feel like I'm continuing to grow, develop as a track athlete," she said.
When asked if she was nervous before the race, considering she's had back-to-back 200m losses as season openers, Richardson affirmed stating she used it instead as a motivation.
"Obviously, I definitely was as my 100m season opener. I will not be human to say that I wasn't nervous, but my coach said use that nervousness as motivation."
With her Prefontaine Classic victory now a huge confidence booster, Richardson will be looking forward to defending her title at the US Championships and Olympic trials - a major step into making another iconic moment at the Paris Olympic Games.
