'I truly look up to you and Sha'Carri' - Teen star Maurice Gleaton apologises to Christian Coleman for disrespectful squabble
Rising sensation Maurice Gleaton has apologised to Christian Coleman for his disrespectful behavior after winning his 100m races at the Star Athletics Sprint Series on Saturday.
The 18-year-old dropped a stunning performance of 9.87s (2.4) to win his heat, thus defeating veteran sprinters Coleman (10.03s) and Cravint Charleston in 10.15s to lead 100m prelims.
In the final, Gleaton proved his victory was no fluke by dominating the event gain, this time clocking another windy 9.82s (2.8) ahead of Hicklin who ran 9.92s, and Coleman third in 9.93s.
Following the end of the race, Gleaton and Coleman got into a squabble, which was later revealed at the finish line; he stared down the former world champion which led to an altercation. Also, the former world champion had reported the kid for a false start in the prelims and shouldn't have been allowed to run.

Coleman who's allegedly going through an emotional breakdown after a rumoured breakup with his girlfriend Sha'Carri Richardson, have got some fans believing it could have been responsible for his snap, while others are of the opinion that the award-winning sprinter has never acted out of order so Gleaton must have been disrespectful.
With their heated argument making it to mainstream track social media, Gleaton has apologised for his behavior, stating he never meant to be disrespectful in a DM sent to Coleman, which he shared on his Insta story.
Despite the meet's unfortunate end for Coleman, he can take solace in the fact that he went sub-10s for the first time this season and can build on it for the rest of the year.
