'I don't even know him!' — Nantes president rubbishes Alexander Arnold sale rumours
Nantes owner Waldemar Kita has rubbished reports that Liverpool star Alexander Arnold is close to buying the French side. An angry Kita said he did not even know who Arnold was and that the reports of a sale to the England international were false.
Trent and Nantes Purchase
Pukse Sports relayed a report from L’Equipe that the 25-year-old has set his sights on buying Ligue 1 club FC Nantes.
The Liverpool Academy graduate is said to be exploring ownership in football alongside his other existing business interests.
According to the French outlet, Alexander Arnold's father, Michael Arnold, who manages his son’s financial interests through a London-based firm, was reportedly taking the lead in acquiring the French club.
Kita rubbishes the report
The 71-year-old Polish businessman who made his money in the pharmaceutical industry before purchasing Nantes gave a strong rebuttal to the reports that he was close to selling the club to Arnold.
“This is all bullshit! Where does that come from?” He asked Presse-Océan. “How do you expect a serious man who wants to purchase a club to use a journalist? Trent Alexander-Arnold? But I don’t even know him!”
“He told me his father was involved in finance and that they have players as well as agents. I’ve never done any videoconference with anyone, ever. It’s nonsense. How can you even in this business with such sums?“
