The 28-year-old Barca Femeni star was left out of the starting line-up due to fitness issues and spoke on the situation after the game.

"As I said earlier, this team has a lot to offer, and everyone has seen that today,” Oshoala said.

 “To be honest, I was not feeling really too well [today], but I am not a selfish person, and this is why you need to be strong for the World Cup.”

Oshoala also etched her name in football history, becoming the first African player to score at three different world cups.

The Super Falcons play their third and final group game against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.
