LALIGA side Real Betis have reportedly reached an agreement with Crystal Palace regarding the sale of Moroccan defender Chadi Riad. The completion of the transfer will see a portion of the agreed fee go the way of Barcelona.
Chadi Riad to Crystal Palace
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Betis and Crystal Place reached an agreement of €14 million, including performance and appearance-related bonuses, for the transfer of 20-year-old Chadi Riad.
Per the report, the Eagles have already agreed on personal terms with the Morocco international and the deal is said to be in its final stages. Riad joined Betis from Barcelona last summer on a season-long loan with a mandatory buy option, and after only a season, he is set to leave the club for the Premier League.
How it helps Barcelona
When Riad left Barcelona to join Real Betis in the summer, the Blaugrana included a sell-on clause in the contract, meaning they would get a percentage of the transfer fee from the deal between Real Betis and Crystal Palace.
Chadi Riad came up through the ranks at Barcelona but only made one appearance for the first team before joining Real Betis. He has made 30 appearances for Betis in all competitions this season. He has not scored or assisted.
