Harambee Stars Prospect Vyner Excites Bristol City Faithful After Dazzling Championship Display
Harambee Stars prospect Zak Vyner continues to impress fans of Bristol City after another solid performance in their recent 1-1 draw against Watford in the EFL Championship on Friday, 7 November.
Vyner, who last month broke the Robin’s all-time Championship appearance record, played the full 90 minutes at Vicarage Road despite the team being hit hard by injuries
Watford took the lead early through Marc Bola, but Bristol City fought back with a perfectly executed free kick from Scott Twine just before halftime to level the score.
The game was tightly contested after that, with both sides creating chances. However, Bristol City’s goalkeeper Radek Vitek was named man of the match for a series of crucial saves that kept the visitors from losing their third straight match.
Fans and pundits have been vocal in their praise of Vyner’s performances this season.
@tutt_david tweeted, “Crucial player, showing strengths and attributes as a centre back and recently in the midfield! Bloke is immense. Need to revive the Zak Vyner song btw. Shalalalalala.”

Another fan @giles_sally added, “Zak Vyner also very good back in central defence. Looks so much sharper – and happier – this season than last, scored another important goal tonight and showed a few signs of leadership too.”
Bristol City manager Gerhard Struber (@GerhardStruber) faced a huge challenge in this match, missing as many as 10 first-team players through injury, even naming two goalkeepers on the bench.
Despite this, the team managed to secure a valuable point that lifted them to seventh place on the Championship table with 23 points, just above Hull City.
Kibunguchy Makes Cameo Appearance in Singapore
In Singapore, Harambee Stars defender Nabilai Kibunguchy came off the bench to help his team, Hougang United, secure a 3-2 victory over Tanjong Pagar in a cup match on Friday.
The 27-year-old center back, born in the United States to Kenyan parents, was brought on in the 84th minute, replacing Huzaifah Abdul Aziz, and played the final seven minutes of the game.
This cameo marked Kibunguchy’s fifth consecutive appearance since joining Hougang United on 15 September.
Kenyan Forward Adam Wilson Misses Second Straight Match
Meanwhile in Wales, Kenyan forward Adam Wilson missed his second consecutive game for The New Saints as they suffered a 3-2 loss to Cardiff Metropolitan on Friday night.
Wilson, who also missed The New Saints’ 3-0 cup win over Caernarfon on 4 November, was dropped from Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy’s squad ahead of upcoming international friendlies against Equatorial Guinea and Senegal later this month.
No official update on Wilson’s injury status has been provided by either Harambee Stars or his club.
