Harambee Stars Line Up Friendly Against 2021 AFCON Champions Senegal
Harambee Stars are set to dazzle on the international stage once again as they will face off against the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions, Senegal, in an exciting international friendly match scheduled for Monday, November 18, 2025.
The highly anticipated encounter will take place at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey, with kick-off set for 6pm EAT according to an announcement made by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) on Wednesday evening.
This clash will mark Kenya’s second friendly fixture of the month, coming just days after their scheduled game against Madagascar on November 14, also in Antalya.
For Senegal the match against the Harambee Stars will be their second outing of the international break, following their much-talked-about showdown with Brazil on November 15
Senegal, led by coach Pape Thiaw, are expected to field a strong side boasting international stars such as Sadio Mané, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Nicolas Jackson.
Kenya’s Road to Redemption and Development
Kenya, under coach Benni McCarthy, is in a rebuilding phase following a period of international setbacks, including missing out on qualification for both AFCON 2025 and the FIFA World Cup.
Rising stars Aldrine Kibet and Baron Ochieng have earned their first senior call-ups and will be hoping to make their mark against high-caliber opponents like Senegal.
The Harambee Stars’ trip to Turkey will serve as a mini training camp, providing them with a competitive yet supportive environment to sharpen their tactical awareness and team chemistry.
This newly announced fixture against Senegal appears to have replaced a previously questioned match against Comoros, which was also scheduled for November 18. Kenya's camp in Turkey will begin with a match against Madagascar on November 14.
Facing world-class players and a team known for physicality, discipline, and pace will allow McCarthy’s charges to gauge their progress and resilience.
The Lions of Teranga’s first match is set for November 15 at London’s Emirates Stadium, promising an electric atmosphere as they take on the five-time world champions.
The follow-up fixture against Kenya in Turkey ensures that Thiaw’s men remain grounded and focused on regional competitiveness.
