Pep Guardiola revealed he was “emotionally destroyed” after Manchester City’s dominant 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at the Etihad.
Guardiola calls for caution
Despite the huge result, the City boss insisted his team will have to play two perfect games in order to progress past the Bundesliga champions.
City took control of the tie thanks to a scorcher from midfielder Rodrigo, followed by two second half goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland but Pep has called for caution.
“I have 10 more years today. It was such a demanding game. Now I have to relax, a day off for the guys, and prepare for Leicester. I know exactly what you have to do there in Munich.
🗣️ "It was not comfortable at all, emotionally I am destroyed"

"If you don’t perform really well they are able to score one, two, three. I know that. The players know that. It’s an incredible result, but we have to play our game with a huge, huge personality.
"To knock out these teams you have to have two good games, not just one.”
